ABSTRACT

The recession has hit everyone very hard. Many companies, including Barco, have reacted quickly to match cost levels to the new market realities, the first priority being survival. The recovery that appears on the horizon promises to be a slow one, and ‘recovery’ may not be the right term anyway. What will develop in the next few years is likely to be substantially different from what we’re used to. Customers may have reset their expectations, markets may have moved elsewhere and a technology shake-out is under way. All of this has profound consequences for R&D and Barco is implementing changes that will enable it to take advantage of the new conditions.
